HELP :-) I recently picked up a VAX 11/750 with 2m words of ram, 4 dz11 muxes, a multibus controller, a UDA50, and a couple 3rd party plotter controllers. For this I paid $300. What I did not get was storage. I need enough storage to build vms and do some development work. I also need some sort of tape drive to load vms and other software onto the machine. I cannot, however, spend an aweful lot bringing this system up. I'm still in college, and I've already spent a bundle upgrading my lisa-2 to a mac+ for 4mb & a silly little hard drive. So I need some sort of hard disk and a tape drive. Size is not really important; I just killed my pile of pdp11/05 junk and now have plenty of room next to the vax. I can't use 3-phase drives (coulda gotten 5 rpo6's free), but I might be able to get 240 1phase. I would prefer to pick the stuff up in the Puget Sound or Portland, Oregon area. I can spend maybe another $500 to get a nice tape drive and hard drive. Also, I got 3 pro350's with 5 meg hard drives. Two have a pos login installed, so I can't even get into pos on them. The third has no protection, but I can't determine how to run fortran, dibol, or anything. It appears that someone removed some but not all of the applications' files. I need manuals, a cheap source for rx50 disks, software, and info on unix or venix for the pros. I figure I could rip out the st506s and put in 80 meg drives, get a couple more memory cards, and have 3 nifty (maybe slot :-) ) unix machines. E-mail here or call Mark @ (206) 692-9410 -mark
