Please, please. Will a kind soul help me on this strange problem? I cannot say that I am an expert on VMS but I have been taking care of two VMS machines for a while now and I thought I knew my way around until.... Well, our WS2000 was running VMS 4.6 when we decided to upgrade to 5.0. Since I had to go to 4.7 before 5.0 I decided to do all of these at once and bring the machine to date. All upgared went fine. The machine rebooted fine after the upgrade. But after I installed VWS on it something very strange happened. During boot it gave some error and then trapped out of boot. I could not capture the error since the screen cannot be stopped during boot (or can it?) Here is what I have from the whole screen (last part of it): KERNEL/INTERRUPT/BOOT STACK xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx ........ ........ ... .... (where xxxxxx are hex numbers in two columns) Loaded images CPULOAD.EXE .. xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx ... .... ..... ... .. .. EXEC_INIT.EXE xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx At this point the boot seems to go in an endless loop booting the machine continously with the same result. Does anybody know of a way to 'freeze' the screen so I can capture the first error messages? Does anybody have any ideas on this? By the way I tried formatting the disk and reinstalling the software but got the same result. I also tried vms5.1 with DECWindows but got the same problem. Thank you very much.
