I have writen some TCP/IP programs for DEC's UCX version of TCP/IP You can get them by anonymous FTP from alpha.hartford.edu ther are in the /pub/ucx directory. Don't forget to set BIN or IMAGE file transfer types. All programs were writen with VMS 5.3 and UCX 1.2 A short discription: TELNET Normal Telnet FINGER Normal Finger WHOIS Normal Whois LOOKUP Uses DNS to lookup hosts All programs use DNS and UCX to translate hostnames to addresses. -- Andrew Lindh, a student at the University of Hartford -- Computer Science INTERNET: lindh@uhasun.hartford.edu | NOTE: All views here are MINE!!! I would like to make these utilities available on gatekeeper.dec.com (and by extension, on DECWRL::"/pub" for internal DEC users). However, I can't make binaries available since there's no way to check them for trojan horses. Any chance of getting the sources to your UCX utilities? 150 ASCII data connection for /bin/ls (16.1.0.2,3143) (0 bytes). total 72 -rw-r--r-- 1 root 7680 Jun 30 11:58 FINGER.EXE -rw-r--r-- 1 root 5552 Jun 30 11:58 FINGER.OBJ -rw-r--r-- 1 root 3080 Jun 30 11:40 GETHOSTBYNAME.OBJ -rw-r--r-- 1 root 5120 Jun 30 11:58 LOOKUP.EXE -rw-r--r-- 1 root 1012 Jun 30 11:58 LOOKUP.OBJ -rw-r--r-- 1 root 3989 Jun 30 12:17 README -rw-r--r-- 1 root 14848 Jun 30 11:58 TELNET.EXE -rw-r--r-- 1 root 14370 Jun 30 11:58 TELNET.OBJ -rw-r--r-- 1 root 7680 Jun 30 11:58 WHOIS.EXE -rw-r--r-- 1 root 5236 Jun 30 11:58 WHOIS.OBJ -- Paul Vixie DEC Western Research Lab <vixie@wrl.dec.com> Palo Alto, California ...!decwrl!vixie
