[comp.sys.dec] Bisync to Ethernet Convertor

sysmgt007@spacm1.uucp (07/11/90)

The things managers want to try and do these days -:)

Here is the latest high priority item that we would like to accomplish:

We have a Vax in our sidney office connected to an ethernet system.
We have users in our singapore office connected to an ethernet system.
We have the two ethernets talking. So far so good.

Now then, there is ALSO an IBM System/36 at singapore (which they
think is only running BISYNC) which they would like to have talking
to the Vax in sidney through the ethernet connection.

My question is this: HOW?
I suppose what I really need is a hardware product that would convert BISYNC to
ETHERNET and a software product to read it on the VAX through DECnet.

Does anybody out there have any ideas about products that may do this?
Does anybody know if DEC's DECnet/SNA Gateway product does this (or for that
matter, What DOES the Gateway do?)

Thanks.
