[comp.sys.dec] Connecting to a PACX line through uVAX II serial port

grisanti@plains.NoDak.edu (Ames Grisanti) (07/27/90)

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone can help with the
following problem. I have a uVAX II and have one of the
serial ports connected to a PACX so I can have access
to other systems. The problem is that in order to get
a login prompt from the PACX I must send a break signal.
What I initially wanted to do was use Kermit-32 as the
interface between my terminal and the port connected to
the PACX. I have since found out that Kermit-32 is not
capable of sending a break, so I can't connect to the PACX
using kermit. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I
might be able to use my VAX as an interface to the PACX.

Thanks,

Ames Grisanti
