/* Written 3:51 pm Aug 2, 1990 by kbesrl@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu in ux1.cso.uiuc.edu:comp.unix.ultrix */ /* ---------- "diskless clients -- final Q?" ---------- */ Hello netfolk, I'm almost there, but not quite! I'm setting up diskless clients on a MicroVAX II server. The client I'm trying to add is a MVII GPX. Now I am at a stage, where the client tries to boot of the network. It starts even loading the operating system image. However, it comes to a stage when it says: "boot device not in table". Then it gives a prompt: "root device?" Irrespective of what option I choose, there is a segmentation fault. What is the "table" that is being accessed. How can I include "boot device" in it? Here is what the console looks like: Ultrix-32 V3.1 (Rev. 9) ..... real mem = ... avail mem = ... . . MicroVAX-II with an FPU Q22 bus uda0 at uba0 uq0 at uda0 ... klesiu0 at uba0 uq16 at klesiu0 qd0 at uba0 qe0 at uba0 boot device not in table root device? use hp%d ra%d rl%d rk%d rd%d rz%d root device? If I type anything here it goes like this: root on kbesrl:/dlclient0/uikesb.root swap on kbesrl:/dlclient0/uikesb.root/dev .. .. crashes saying panic messages. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks. -- sudhakar sudha@kbesrl.me.uiuc.edu /* End of text from ux1.cso.uiuc.edu:comp.unix.ultrix */
