From: Jim Hofmann <hofmann@AMSAA.ARPA> I hear Todd has released an album consisting entirely of human voices. Taking THE BOBS idea one step forward (or backward depending on how you feel about electronics) he has piped said voices through various samplers and synths (be neat if net.synth could explain some of his techniques). I have heard only one song and it approaches a Hall & Oates style only without hooks. Kinda poppy. -Jim

So did Jean-Michel Jarre; it was called Zoolook, and it was a major de- parture from his usual synth-filled style. Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of people who liked his earlier stuff didn't like this because it was so weird. I liked it, though... but maybe I'm just tasteless.

Does anyone remember "There Are No Words", from _Runt_? The original poster also asked about the whereabouts of Utopia. Last thing I heard, Roger Powell was working on a commercial music synthesis product, while Kasim Sulton was playing keyboards on Cheap Trick's latest tour. No idea what John Wilcox (who, incidentally, went to high school with me) is up to. AWR

I heard a cut from the new Todd Rundgren album. The album is called "A Cappella" I can't remember the name of the track I heard but it was very good, and sounded very Todd Rundgren despite the strange manner in which the song was done(all human voices, no instruments). He must of did some job of engineering since I could have sworn there were drums and guitars in there. Sharon Badian ihnp4!mtgzz!seb Baby, baby, please let me hold him. I want to make him stay up all night. Sister, sister, he's just a plaything. We want to make him stay up all night.
