[comp.sys.dec] Trouble with upgrade Ultrix 3.1 for Vax 6310

josevela@mtecv2.mty.itesm.mx (Jose Angel Vela Avila) (08/20/90)

We have a Vax 6310, running Ultrix 3.0, we tried to upgrade it to Ultrix
3.1, but we have trouble making the new kernel, the report is this :

  kmem_alloc(devname, char *, MAXPATHLEN, KM_TEMP); syntax error

  KM_TEMP undefined variable

any suggestions ?, please send mail to me.

 Thanks..

If this is in custom driver source, you may have gotten bitten by changes
in in the kernel memory allocation stuff. I think all Ultrix calls are
supposed by via the KM_ALLOC macro.

If it's something else, you might want to check if you successfully updgraded
or were left with a mix of old and new pieces.
