We are upgrading a distributed data acquisition system, replacing PDP-11 to VAX dataflow via DECdataway with link level IEEE 802.3 packets to the same VAX and added UNIX workstations. In addition, we would like to manage and control the PDP-11s from the VAX using DECnet. We found it necessary to change ethernet line ownership on the PDP-11s to DLX to broadcast the link level packets. This configuration change, unfortunately, disables DECnet. Has anyone managed to broadcast and receive IEEE 802.3 link level packets using DECnet-RSX while leaving DECnet operational? If so, have you any idea where we may have gone wrong? We are using DECnet-11M-PLUS Version 4.0. Thanks in advance. I would like to avoid wasting more time if this dual usage is not available. If we can broadcast these packets while also using DECnet, have you any ideas, guesses, etc. where we may have gone wrong? We are using DECnet-11M-PLUS Version 4.0. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
