We're running Mt. Xinu BSD4.3 on a DEC MVII with a RD53 (Micropolis) disk. The 'ra0b' partition has developed some bad sectors and since this is our swap partition, the system crashes everytime we swap into a bad area. We don't have a formatting program and don't want to spend the $2500 for the DEC diagnostics (or Field Service). Does anyone know of another formatter, or for that matter a workaround for this problem? Please mail replies to me. I will answer 'me too!' queries unless the numbers warrant a posted summary.
