I have an extra Sun shoebox disk (Micropolis model 1558, allegedly 330 MB), and I need some extra disk storage on a Dec-3100, which has an RZ-55, and a TK-50. Has anyone ever tried the Sun Disk/Dec-3100 combination? The disks I believe are the same, I have not yet tried this with a DS3100, although we have plan to replaced an RD53 with a Micropolis (equiv to an RD54). What I am going to try as soon as I get an extra RZ55, is swap out a RD53 disk and a Sun shoebox disk. The only problem I forsee is the fact that each manufacturer has a different imbedded (scsi or otherwise) controller. -- +----------------------------+-----------------------------------------+ | Dave Wright | Phone: (714) 952-6320 | | McDonnell Douglas M&E | Internet: wright@mdcbbs.com | | Software Engineering | UUCP: uunet!mdcbbs.com!wright | | P.O.Box 6011 | PSI: PSI%31060099980019::WRIGHT | | Cypress, Ca. 90630 | | +----------------------------+-----------------------------------------+
