[comp.sys.dec] What's up Doc? Problem with talk and its daemon.

remacle@geocub.greco-prog.fr (Gabriel Remacle[DEA]) (09/17/90)

        Hi!

I received this strange message when I was trying to
talk to somebody on a Sun (from our DS 3100).
What's the matter? I tried it many times, and it
        failed sometimes...

        Here it is:
[Error on write to talk daemon : No buffer space available (55)]

        What does it mean?

SUN talk listens on a different socket than DEC talk. At present the two
are incompatible. You can talk SUN<->SUN and DEC<->DEC plus most of the other
talks. SUN is the non-conformist.
