I have a complete CDC 9762 drive sitting here; Up until about 2 weeks ago, it was functional. One of the heads crashed, and I have found that the cost of parts and replacement packs have made repair an option that really isn't cost-effective. I think that most dealers use this little program whenever they need to determine buying/selling prices: 10 INPUT "Reasonable price of part";PRICE 20 INPUT "(B)uying, or (S)elling";ASK$ 30 IF ASK$ = "B" THEN LET PRICE = PRICE * .1 40 IF ASK$ = "S" THEN LET PRICE = PRICE * 5. Either that, or - Charge them twice what they'll pay, and ten dollars more. At any rate, the drive is for sale, whole or parts, at what I consider a reasonable rate; I do have some "guidelines" for some of the parts, anything else not listed is negotiable, but still cheap. Please keep in mind that at least one head is crashed, so I won't make any promises on the condition of the heads. Any of the boards in the card cage - $30.00 (ELPV is $40) (Remember, all boards are guaranteed to work.) Power supply - $85.00 (again, guaranteed to work) Power AMP transistors, head control - $25.00, including heat sink. Drive 0 cables, approx 25' long - "fair" shape, operable - $40/set. All other parts are up in the air. Prices do NOT include shipping, or REQUIRED COD FEE. Contact: -- Timothy R.
