=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I am looking for an anonymous ftp site location to obtain the OSF/Motif window manager "mwm". I have an older binary from somewhere, but there seems to be a few bugs. Can anyone point me to a place that has it? This is for a DECstation 3100 under Ultrix 3.1 (eventually Ultrix 4.0). Thanks a lot, Gordie Jacobs =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

If that's true, why not make it available by ftp, it's not source code and couldn't be used on non-DEC systems? -- Dave Sill (de5@ornl.gov) Martin Marietta Energy Systems Workstation Support

Since OSF/Motif is a licensed piece of software and OSF is licensing it on a per machine basis, I don't think you'll find it available anywhere via FTP for free. From: brosen@bbn.com (Bruce L. Rosen) Path: bbn.com!brosen DEC is, however, in the middle of field testing Motif. Projections last winter had it generally available in the first quarter of 1991. Regards - Bruce

MWM and Motif has been available from Digital for months now. It is in binary form for VMS, ULTRIX/RISC and ULTRIX/VAX. It is complete Motif including some porting tools (XUI to Motif). Part numbers: RISC ULTRIX: Media Part number QA-YMCAA-H5 VAX ULTRIX: Media Part Number QA-YMBAA-H5 I don't know VMS part numbers. Fred

You can buy a developers' kit, including MWM, a UIL compiler, compiled libraries and documentation kit, from DEC today. It appears to be based on Motif 1.0. Order number is QA-YMxAA-mc, where x is A for VMS, B for VAX/Ultrix and C for RISC/Ultrix, and mc is the relevant media code. A license is also required for VMS. Not free, but cost is modest, as DEC's offerings go! I have read that they're planning to distribute MWM along with VMS during late 1991. Russ
