Hi I have just inherited an old VAX station II running Ultrix 1.1 Without any documentation trying to find out the termcap settings is going to take a long time ... Has anyone out there got any info on what the terminal type is that we need to set so we can use a screen editor. thanks -simon. -- | Simon Klyne | 'phone : +44 (0) 904 43 2381 | | Department of Electronics | email : simon@uk.ac.york.ohm | | University of York, YO1 5DD, England | --

You're out of luck. The VAXstation display is DUMB. The only thing you can do is run DECwindows or X11 on it. If you upgrade to Ultrix3.1, or Ultrix4.0, then installing X11R4 is trivial.
