[comp.sys.dec] disk drives

nigel@isgtec.UUCP (Nigel Burnett) (11/06/90)

I have three (maybe four) Fujitsu 160 MB disk drives and a Cipher 9-track
1/2" tape drive to sell:

One drive is in excellent condition, one formats with quite a few retrties,
one will come ready but faults when I try to format it. The tape drive
works very well. The disk drives are 6-8 years old; the tape drive ???.

The drives are real Fujitsu model M2284 drives (unformatted capacity is
 168.5MB - formatted ~132MB). They are 14" drives, mount in a regular 19"
rack and weigh 100 pounds each. They are SMD interface and can be daisy-
chained. They will work on any system (DEC,Geac,Convergent and a zillion
others that support vanilla (1.2MB/sec xfer) SMD. The drives are
 addressable from unit 0-15.

The tape drive takes up to 10 inch reels - 800/1600 bpi (no 6250). It is
a Cipher model # unknown - front loading and also made for a 19" rack.
The interface is vanilla Pertec (they can be daisy-chained).

Pricing is cheap cheap cheap. The disk drives cost >$10,000 new and they
are $500,$300,$100 respectively - get the fourth free if you buy all three!
The tape drive is $1000 as it works well and is a lot newer.

I will even deliver any/all of this stuff free within 100km of my house
if there' cash waiting at the other end.
