We have a number of bridges that were recently upgraded to LB150s. Soon after the upgrade one of the bridges would occasionally get into a weird state where it would stop forwarding packets and no longer respond to RBMS commands. All other outward indications were that the bridge was fine - it was seeing packets on both ports and that it was in forwarding mode. The only way to make it begin bridging again was to power it off then on. After the second occurance, the bridge was replaced. When the new bridge failed all the related hardware was checked and verified to be working properly. Today, this same behavior has occured in a another LB150 on a network across the site that is connected to the same backbone. Now its begining to look like the cause is on the network. A Sniffer has revealed nothing unusual on the backbone, but then the data captured did not coincide with one of the bridges failing. Can someone out there please tell me that they've seen this and point me to a solution? -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mark Tassinari Lawrence Livermore National Lab markat@cyrano.llnl.gov PO Box 808 L-408 (415)422-4090
