[comp.sys.dec] Memory boards: VAX 730 vs VAX 750

Boy, have I got a load of questions:-)

First off, can a memory board thats in a 750 be used in a 730? I have
no idea of the 750. This is the DEC 1mb memory boards I am talking
about, part number M8750. That number matches the boards in my 730,
and also a 750 I am around often.

Also, there are larger capacity memory boards installed in the 750,
not made by DEC (I forget the name of the manufacture...). from
the looks of them, they are like 2mb or 4mb. Can I use these in my
730 also?

Whats the max memory a 730 can have? (I have two free slots, if I
use the M8750s, that gives me 4mb total. But if I can use the
larger boards, whats the max? 4 memory boards total is all I can
fit into the backplane)

And if I do upgrade the memory, is there any preperations needed to
be done? Or do I just pop the boards into the backplane, and off
we go? Should I increase the page and swap files to take advantage
of increased memory?

Whew!:-) Thanx!
