[comp.sys.dec] Anyone interested in DECsystem 20's?

stevef@bony1.bony.com (Steve Faiwiszewski) (02/20/91)

Our company has 3 aging DEC-20's; two 2060's and one 2020.
The 2020 is not used anymore, and the 2060's are on their way out.
We don't know what to do with them, and the possibility of trashing
them is real. Is there anyone out there interested in DEC-20's?
If so, drop me a line via email; maybe something can be worked out...

I've heard that CompuServe is interested in KL CPUs; they're in your area.
Failing that, send email and I can put you in contact with Bruce Kennard
who operates InSyte (or something like that) and brokers used DEC-20s and
other DEC equipment.

Good luck! CMU phased out six 2060s over a three-four year period,
ending about a year ago. Towards the end nobody would take them! The
fourth was sold to someone for $500. He was going to build a closed
environment system on it and turn around and sell it. I heard that the
last two were sold for scrap. *sob*

I love(d) the Tops-20 OS. I still have about 25 manuals. I'd go back
to being a humble operator in a minute just to work on 20's again.

We have also an DEC-10 (a 1090), which will be phased out in
the third quarter of 1991. If anybody is interested, please drop me
a line.

Sincerely,
Klaus Steinberger

P.S: For those which don't know it: The DEC-10 is the same hardware
as the 20's but uses another Software (TOPS-10 instead of TOPS-20)
