I was looking through the InterOp Conference. In session 14 "DECnet in a Multiprotocol Environment", I have a few questions which I hope that the speakers ( Debra Murphy, Kim A Buxton, and Dennis Y Chan from DEC ) could asked them. In that presentation notes, DEC put up a Common Transport Interface (Socket Layer ) over XTI annd DNA Session Control, pg six of the DECnet-ULTRIX OSI - the good neighbour. Could someone share some light on this Common Transport Interface? What is the difference between this interface and XTI? However, on pg 12, the diagram shows that Common Transport Interface being XTI, I am confused! Pg 11 of the same topic mentioned about Common Agent Architecture, where a Director using SNMP access module interacts with the Common Agent. The Common Agent is drawn as a SNMP Protocol Engine supporting multiple MOM such as Internet MIB, DECnet V and User Defined MOM. Is the Common Agent residing outside the management node? Are MOMs being supported under a single SNMP stack or is it in different machines running the SNMP stack but drawn to show as one. Could someone comments on the Common Agent Architecture? Has DEC announce products based on Common Agent Architecture? Which platform, Ultrix, DOS. OS/2, VMS? Is DECnet-ULTRIX OSI announced? Where can I get the information relating to that? Thanks
