[comp.sys.dec] vaxen update

i1neal@exnet.iastate.edu (Neal Rauhauser -- ) (03/08/91)

The second person who expressed interest in the 11/780 has backed out
on me. My mail handling program has ate at least two other offers -
If you got no reply from me, the mailer had your letter for lunch.
If you want it here is what you must do:

     1. go to whoever holds the purse strings for your company and tell
them about the machine. be sure to tell them about _maintainence_.
I know you want it, but you're not paying for it ...

     2. find out what shipping will cost from central iowa to where ever
you might be. I can find a shipper in the area if you don't
        know of one.

     3. call me, Neal, at 515 - 292 - 7209, to make any other arrangements
        that may be needed.

     4. be ready to fed-ex me a check for the full price of the machine.
a reasonable offer would be $1000.

There are a slug of hobbiests who want the 730, and some of them have
even offered to _pay_ for it, of all things. The 780 is in the way and
$0.06 a pound for it after I take the drives out is looking better and
better all the time. Don't delay, or you may just get a uuencoded gif
of what it looked like after it went through a crusher.

Heres the description again, in case you lost it:
