[comp.sys.dec] Repairing a dead VAXmate -- how expensive?

barrett@jhunix.HCF.JHU.EDU (Dan Barrett) (03/08/91)

Several of our VAXmates are dead -- flip the switch and nothing
happens. I naturally assume it's a broken power supply.

How expensive are these things to get fixed? Can they be taken to
any PC clone repair shop, or are they filled with proprietary DEC hardware?

We got these PC's free from DEC in a deal several years ago. If
they can't be fixed inexpensively, they're getting junked.

	Thanks for any info!

                                                        Dan
