[comp.sys.dec] Eight VAXstations for sale.

muir@cae780.csi.com (David Muir Sharnoff) (03/26/91)

I never used them; they just sat there and sat there; I finally
decided to do something about them: liquidate.

I don't know much about VAXstations and so my list of
configurations is not as good as it should be. I apologize.
On thing I really don't understand is the fact that some of the
systems below claim to have RA81 disks; I thought the RA81
was a large SMD disk, not a 5.25" uVAX disk...

Eight systems, three printers, and a pagefull of licenses.

I do not know how much they are worth, but there are several
companies that are supposed to give me quotes.

These systems were last under maintenance eight months ago
from CDC. We had them serviced and then turned them off.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		Vaxstation 3500

This system has not been powered on in months, but did have a
service checkout before being unplugged.

on other documents, the VS355-AA shows up as:

VS31S-B2	AB84603N5M	GPX 8-PLN, COLOR, VS31S-A2

On yet another document, the system shows up with:

VS355-AA
	16 TOTAL MEGABYTES OF MEMORY

	VR290-DA	CONSOLE

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		Microvax-II/GPX

This system works. It has two RD54 disks, an ethernet, eight serial
ports and a TK50. The monitor is a bit fuzzy.

System unit:	VS21W-K2	WF64208002
Monitor:	VR290-DA	FF30402 C01
Keyboard:	LK201AA B063608TD7
Mouse: VSXXX-AA	LH07237
Memory: 16MB

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		VAXstationII	(#1, large cabinet)

This system was is on now. It works. It does not have
a monitor or keyboard (headless). It has four disks:
an RD53 and three RA81's. It has eight serial ports, 13MB
of RAM, an ethernet adaptor, a TK50, and one of CDC tape
drives listed below. Wollongong's(sp?) WIN/TCP package is
installed on this node.

System unit: 630QW-A2	WF63105209

From an old service agreement:

630QB-A2	WF63105209	MVII SBB:1MB/FP, BA123 120V

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		Two CDC 9-track tape drives

Two identical-looking CDC floor-standing, top-loading 9-track, 6250bpi
tape drives. The both work. One of these is connected to the mircovax
(above) and one was connected to an Apollo DSP90.

One of them, claimes to be a model BY3H9-A and has a serial number
of 5940. I could not find a model number or serial number on the other.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		VAXstation 3100

This unit is in boxes, it was loaned to Motorola. We expect that
it works. It has a 3.5" floppy disk drive and an ethernet.

System unit:	VS42A-BW	AB90703YDL
Mouse: VSXXX-AA	LH M9294
Tape: TK50Z-GA	AB91205CZK
Keyboard:	LK201AA
Monitor:	VR290-DA
Disk: unknown, probably two RZ23's.
Memory: unknown, probably 8MB

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		VAXstation 3100

It used to have a TK50, but that was relocated to a DECstation 3100.
It has a color monitor, a 3.5" floppy disk drive, and an ethernet.

System unit:	VS42A-BW	AB90703X76
Monitor:	VR290-DA	FI04345 A1
Mouse: VSXXX-AA.B03	B093300355
Keyboard:	LK201AA
Disk0: RZ23
Disk1: RZ23
Memory: 8MB
Tape: none

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		VAXstation-II	(#2, narrow cabinet)

I have been told that the this and its twin (below) both work. They
both have ethernets and TK50's. This system came up when I turned
it on, but its twin did not: it stoped with a "?RD".

System unit: VS21V-H2	WF60606634
Monitor: VR260-AA	AB53301E11
Keyboard: LK201AA B070802GD2

Mouse: VS10X-EA	04288

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		VAXstationII	(#4, narrow cabinet)

I have been told that the monitor on this computer does not work. I
verified this by blowing up the fuse from one of the other computer's
monitors. It has an ethernet and a TK50. The external disk does not
seem to work (another blown fuse?) -- I don't know how to boot it anyway.

System unit: VS21V-B2	WF54506006
External disk: RD53-D SP58909
Internal disk:	unknown, probably RD54
Keyboard: LK201AA B05250FLY7
Monitor: VR260-AA	AB53200136
Mouse: VS10X-EA	09475

Same system from a service agreement listing:

SV-LV55H-EK	WF54506006	VSII RD53TK50 SWLIC RQDX3 120
MS360-AA 1MB EXPANSION MEMORY
RD53-DA RD53-A DESKTOP DISK 71MB 120V

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		Printers

We have three LA50-RA printers to sell. Their serial numbers are:
TCH3285A, TCH3296A, and TCQ8035A.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
		VMS SOFTWARE

Some of these might be listed above. Basically, I've got
two folders worth of VMS licenses. I don't want any of them!
