I have a pdp-11/73 (BA23 box) to which i am attemping to add a tape drive. The tape drive in question is a Kennedy 9662 (with embedded SCSI controller) and the controller is a Emulex UC08 (SCSI -> MSCP). Has anyone set up a system with this mix of equipment? What cables/adaptors/etc are needed? Is it possible to get this drive and controller to work together, or have i made an expensive mistake? I spoke to the Emulex technical support, they were quite knowledgeable but i became confused at the multitude of connector types, signal numbers and the like. Is there anyone who can provide some help or information? Part numbers would be appreciated, but anything is welcome. Thank you. Steven M. Schultz sms@wlv.imsd.contel.com

Would you not want to use this for getting your tape drive going? On our system it makes it look like a a TK-50 device. We also use a straight 50 conductor ribbon cable to hook the components to each other. Seems to work very well.
