[comp.sys.dec] An unfair attempt to influence the election

killeen@spcvxb.spc.edu (Jeff Killeen) (04/24/91)

So much for a fair and unbiased LDEC election...

Granted we knew the Board was going to use every trick to try to present the
by-law changes in favorable light e.g. including a "Concepts Document" that
was a best case sales blurb for the reorganization. But DECUS sank to a new
low today. LDEC has not fulfilled their traditional role of running neutral
elections. The cover letter sent to every member states...

"The Board of Directors and the Leadership Development and Elections
Committee (LDEC) support the proposed changes to the bylaws."

Needless to say this is one sided and grossly unfair. Even if you support
LDEC making a public statement in favor I hope you take great umbrage at the
fact the did not allow others the same opportunity.

Voting NO is now an act of conscience to discredit these tactics -
playing games with elections should IMHO always be rejected!
