[comp.sys.dec] DEC 3100, & RX23 diskette drive

jahn@guinness.Idbsu.EDU (Greg Jahn) (05/02/91)

Briefly, does anyone know of a 'free' way to use this diskette
drive to format and write onto diskettes which PC's (DOS) could
use?

I'm running Ultrix and can ftp source from other systems via the
internet. Thanks in advance, for, ... whatever.

There is software at psuvax1.cs.psu.edu in pub/src/mtools

Someone obtained a copy here which I modified and installed. Unless
it was an "older" copy, it didn't have formatting code other than for
Sun. The other functions seem to work for low density diskettes.
