I'm having a problem with DEC write splitting words up at the end of lines. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm not talking about the hypenation, it actually splits up words. Please respond by e-mail Tom Hayko tjhayko@thunder.lakeheadu.ca QUIT

Hi, Has anyone used dec's decwrite in the report style and managed to get it to double space (without hitting carriage return) when it wraps over to the next line. I've read through the manuals but without any hint of a suggestion! Any help would be appreciated!! -- /**************************************************************/ /* csmoe@knuth.mtsu.edu Monisha Guglani */ /* "I haven't lost my mind its backed-up on a tape somewhere" */ /**************************************************************/

To change the between-line spacing in a paragraph you need to modify the style for Body Text. I am assuming you know nothing -- most certainly incorrect (you probably knmow more about DECwrite than I do) but I didn't want to leave anything out. Pull down on the Style menu pulldown and go over to the Paragraph Style submenu and pick Body Text. Modify the Leading option (defaults to 2 I think) to be something else. Hit Apply and you will see the spacing between the lines change. When you are happy with the result, push OK and this will save those options for the document you are working on. This may not be The Best or Definitive Way but it does work for me. Fred

If you set the leading to something large (eg paragraph point size + 2) in the style for which ever paragraphs you want double spaced, you'll get the desired effect. It'll look horrible, but it's what you want.... -- John Haxby, Definitively Wrong. Digital <jch@wessex.rdg.dec.com> Reading, England <...!ukc!wessex!jch>

Are the decwrite documents ( on the DECstatino 5000 running ultrix ) compatable with Frame? If not, then what export formats in decwrite can be used to export to frame?
