I posted an article to comp.benchmarks a week ago and got a number of requests to distribute the information I obtained but not too much of the information I sort so here goes again: I am interested in comparing the following systems Sun 4/470 or 490 DEC 5500 HP 9000/842 or 700 series I would be interested in benchmarks or arguments as to why any one is better than any other. Our application is to be DataBase (probably Ingres) so tp ratings (TPA and TPB) would be nice. The DEC results are the ones we don't currently have for TP. If anyone has the AIM multiuser benchmark results for HP I would be interested. We have them for Sun and DEC. If anyone can tell me if Prestoserve has any benefits when not running NFS I would also be interested.
