[comp.sys.dec] Recommendation for TCP/IP for VAX 4000

wmah@ersys.edmonton.ab.ca (Wayne Mah) (06/05/91)

Can someone make a recommendation or provide war stories on
TCP/IP software for the VAX 4000. We require the usual telnet
ftp, and r utilities.
Thanks in advance!

We use both TGV's Multinet and MU/TEK TCP/IP software (on different machines).
TGV's has all of the r utilities. If you don't really need the r utilities
CMU is great (and a LOT cheaper).

Multinet's cost is based on processor rating.

CMU's is a flat price (about $150).

Multinet has all the bells and whistles.

We looked at several vendors and these are the two we went with.
