We recently (monday) recieved a decsystem 5100. Our fisrt attempts to play with the box has been to use cu to connect through a non-dec modem (uds2440 and Quickcomm 2400) we seemed to have found some of the files to modify to allow these modems to almost work but, after the modem is told to dial and the modems make their portion of the connection (we can see connect 2400 on a at running a line monitor program) we get a waiting for carrier detect message and then cu/tip dies. We have made some modifications to the configuration files I do not remember the specifics of the changes or results. Are none dec modems possible? Has anyone done this?
