[comp.sys.dec] The last dumb questions.../Previously, stupid PDP-1134a questions from sspatter@uokmax.ecn.uoknor

pblair@skid.ps.uci.edu (Paul Blair) (06/25/91)

Okay. Here I go again. This will hopefully be my last post.
(Previously I was sspatter@uokmax.ecn.uoknor.edu) Anyways... I need a
bit more help. Okay, I know what cards I want to put in my machine but
I don't know where to put them. (Please don't tell me where you'd like
me to put them...) Anyways, I need to know the order they go in in the
machine, if I need any other cards to make it work, and how to boot the
thing up using an M9312 bootstrap/terminaotr card... I need to know how
to boot up just hte console interface and how to boot up the console and
RK07 drive. Imean every step from turning it on up. (I'm going with
the idea that I'm a complete idiot... Mental picture of a basic
programmer)

Okay. Here we go...
The cards I want to put in it:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
M7900 M7901 M7902 M7903 M7904 I'm told these control the RK611 which I
think is the drive controler for the RK07...
M9302 Terminator card...
M7762 RL02 driver card...
2 serial cards (I never found anumber on these but that's what they
are.)
M9202 Jumper to connect the two unibus things.
2 M7856 Parallel cards.
M7850 Parity controller. (i've been told I need this one)
M7891 MOS card.
M7859 Console interface.
M9312 Bootstrap/terminator
M8265 M8266 M8267 Processor and floating point processor. I know where
these go...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, that's the ones I think I need... Any others that are nessicary?
The PDP has 2 9-card holders and the unibus is connected with the M9202
card. If I need more card room, I have an external box which can hold
another 9 cards... That's about it for now I think. Thanks for all the
help I've been getting...

In next post's episode, little sspatter learns how to test cards to see
if they work or not...
