I have a Leading Edge Model D; I am trying to configure it such that I can run Personal Composer on it. My problem is sorting out the interrupts now used, and insuring all necessary hardware can be accommodated. My configura- tion now is: EGA card - using int 2 (I'm not 100% sure) including a mouse port - using int 3 including a printer port (LPT1) - using int 5 (or 7?) Built-in ports: Parallel (LPT2) - using int 7 (or 5) Serial port (COM1) - using int 4 System has disk controller in one expansion slot, using int ?? I also have a joystick card, using int ?? Personal Composer requires EGA, and should be used with a mouse. Anyway, the mouse stays. The Roland MPU-IPC card also uses interrupt 2. Neither the EGA card nor the MPU card can be changed to use a different interrupt. Something must go. I can get a different card, but still need to know what's using which inter- rupts to insure the card I get can be configured to use an free interrupt. What is using int 1 and int 6. Can I go higher than 7 (the Roland card would use int 9 if my XT were an AT)? I would like not to loose what I have now connected, including the two printers. One option would be to put the two printers on a T-switch and thus free the in- terrupt used by LPT2 (is it 5 or 7?). Or, I'll not be using the modem on COM1 when using Personal Composer, so could wire a switch to disable the serial port on int 4 (that can be done) and another it enable the MPU card (if that's pos- sible). And, can this be done on-the-fly, or must I reboot each time I toggle? If so, the switch on the printers would be better. Answers to some or all of the above will be greatly appreciated!!
