An article called "Communicating with the Dead" in "Music and Computers"* mentioned some freeware or shareware midi software that included a 32 track sequencer for the Atari ST referred to only by the (file) name "32trkseq.arc". It also mentioned a TX81Z editor and librarian for the ST called "txlibr21.arc". Unfortuantely the article did not mention which bulletin board or archive site these are located at. Does anyone have these or know where I can find them (or source code for any other sequencer for the Atari ST, preferably written in Pascal)? Also mentioned were various other "titles" of midi software for various computers, again without mention of the location. The article also says that the "WELL" is available over Usenet. Does anyone know how to access it via Usenet? * Every so often, GPI Publications (the folks who publish "Keyboard", "Guitar Player", and "Frets" magazines) puts out a "Special Edition". "Music and Computers" was one of these. It was published in May/June '89. These special editions are generally exceptionally good, in case you aren't already aware of them. Another very good one of the series was called "Recording Musician" published in March/April of '89. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Al Polivka arpa: apolivka@x102a.harris-atd.com Mail Stop 102-4858 usenet: uunet!x102a!apolivka Harris Corporation phone: 407-729-2983 Government Aerospace Systems Div. >The article also says that the "WELL" is available over Usenet. Does >anyone know how to access it via Usenet? Actually, it's quite the other way 'round - Usenet is available via the WELL, which is an "online community" operating out of the Whole Earth offices in Sausalito, Ca. I co-host the MIDI conference on the WELL, which in many ways is not so different from rec.music.synth but a little more personal because of a core of people who know each other participating over an extended time. Anyway, the WELL is accessible over Usenet only in the sense that dWELLers can be sent uucp mail. The WELL's modem number is (415)332-6106. Various forms of low-cost phone access are available - you can find out about it the first time you sign on, if that's your inclination. -- {pacbell,hplabs,ucbvax,lll-lcc}!well!warren
