[rec.music.synth] TX802 patches

tjm@nsscb.UUCP (Timothy J. Murphy) (08/20/88)

I scrimp and save, rummage in the backs of Kentucky Fried
Chicken outlets for food, drive to work on a skateboard, and it
finally pays off: I get a Kurzweil Midiboard, a TX802, and assorted
other "life-fulfilling" items. I already had an Amiga A1000. The
last thing I need to be able to ride off into the rosy sunset on my
white horse: MIDI software for the Amiga and patches for the 802. Sure,
I like to tinker and make my own patches (I'd have to to buy an 802),
but I don't have THAT much free time (I still have to work so I can
keep up the payments on my skateboard). So, is there anyone out there
who can...

	 1) Tell me about any sequencer/patch editor software for
the Amiga. I have Mimetic's Pro Midi Studio, but it's
kinda dated compared to other progs I've seen, although
the patchboard front-end is PGC (Pretty Good Concept).

	 2) Exchange or otherwise introduce me to sources of patches
for the 802. Something on the Amiga would be great, those
loaded RAM carts ain't cheap, relatively speaking, and
modding/creating sounds using the 802's display is like
a vasectomy without anesthetic, if I may be so bold. I'll
even happily use listed patches and program 'em in from
the printed sheet. Of course, anyone is welcome to the
ones I've created, if you like them. I know the idea for
posting patch parameters for the DX7 was kicked around,
	    how about for the 802?

Thanks in advance for anything you dig up. If you ever need
a lift, there will always be room on my skateboard (it's got A/C).
