[rec.music.synth] MIDI Software for Unix - Wanted

I don't receive rec.music, or comp.music. Is there a source of information
on MIDI information on the NET? Anyone know what software, if any, is good,
UNIX or MSDOS based. How about hardware for the MIDI interface?
