I received the MIDI Manager package yesterday! It
includes a set of sample applications that make use
of the MIDI driver. The documentation warns that
these applications should not be taken as examples
of good user interface design (an understatement)
but as an example of how to use the MIDI calls.
I didn't get to play with it much so I can't give
very many details but I can tell you that the
Arpegiator sample program can arpegiate EVEN IN
THE BACKGROUND UNDER MULTIFINDER! This is cool.
MOTU's Performer 3.0 does not get along with
programs that use the MIDI manager; it stomps
all over them. I'll play some more this weekend
and report any other cool things.
