Greetings, Some of you may remember that I posted that I was planning to buy a IIcx. Well, I've now been offered a competitive price on a IIx. Is there any difference between these two machines (besides the obvious: 6 slots)? If so, what? Things like: socketed vs. unsocketed chips; ROM on SIMM or soldered or socketed; relative speed; expandability (not by slots, but by chip/board swaps); power supply robustness; durability; etc. come to mind. Send me email if you don't want to clutter the net, and I'll summarize. Thanks, --Mike

My apologies to rec.music.synth, comp.sys.amiga, and comp.sys.ibm.pc readers on my posting the above-referenced irrelevant article to these newsgroups. I'm afraid I neglected to check the Newsgroups: line on a message I replied to, and so this post ended up here as well. Thanks to the folks who were nice enough to point out my mistake, and may the people who bitched at me die horrible deaths. Flames to /dev/null. --Mike
