Anyone know anything about the IBM 9002 system ? Its a 68000 based
system from their Instrument Systems Division in Danbury, Connecticut.
There was a brief blurb about it in the "New Product Announcements" in
the latest IEEE Computer. In the picture it looks like a smaller model of the
9000, which was a laboratory system (graphics & printer built in).
More importantly, does anyone in net-land have any experience with Xenix
on the 68000, as that is what IBM is offering. I've seen some flames
on Xenix. Was Xenix derived from Bell code by Microsoft or was it designed
from scratch ? Are the tty ioctl's V7 or System III/V ? Does it support
termcap, vi and the C-shell ?

#R:hsi:-12000:uiucdcs:13700051:000:395 uiucdcs!roy Apr 9 17:18:00 1984 In case anyone was wondering, I meant to have deleted the tail of the response about CS9000s. The information is not "confidential". (Especially not now it is on the network!). We had to wait until IBM announced a delivery date for the system before we could talk about it... Also, the text on the benchmarks comes from Columbia, we just added the CS9000 figures. Sorry about the messy note.
