I'm in the market for another sequencer ( I currently have/use Dr T's KCS level II). The two that I have been looking at are Music X and Master Tracks Pro 3.0 ( I have an Amiga ). The reason I'm looking for something other than Dr T's is my desire to use SMPTE. Dr T's can not sync to MTC, which brings me to my search for another sequencer. I'm looking for peoples thoughts on either Music X and Master Tracks Pro. Master Tracks Pro does sync to MTC but I'm not sure about Music X. Anybody know for sure? Music X looks good because of its price and the generic librarian. Other things that I'm looking for in a sequencer besides the ability to sync to SMPTE are: 1) Fairly high resolution. I tend to record pieces as if I was playing into a tape deck. In other words I ignore the built in tempo and use my own feel to set the pace. This causes some great problems in attempting to loop things but I like the feel much better. Because of this however resolution needs to be fairly high. 2) Flexible Quantization. I don't like the strict quantize to quarter notes method. I would prefer to say shift things if they reside within such and such a distance from the beat, or better yet a percent of quantization so that I can shift things say 50% closer to the beat. 3) Something that can run ok in a 1 meg machine. Sorry I don't want to have to go out and get more memory just yet! But if I had to I would. So tell me what you think about your favorite Amiga sequencer. I'll post a summary if others are interested. thanks Brian Reitz bdr@cray.com
