Is there some bug/local option within the "C" compiler such that programs more than, say 8000 lines long treat ALL variables as local ? A friend has written such a programme, which, after a certain threshold number of lines, exhibits those symptoms. Just curious.... --David "Flame gently, I'm an analog engineer" Anthony ( decvax, akgua !mcnc!urp!dya )

Gentle flames. Many bugs or local features exist among the many implementations of C in the world. If you have a particular bug or strange side effect in your compiler that you would like to discuss, PLEASE tell us which implementation you are using. Like... I am using the MIT PCC on a 68000 or the Phototypesetter edition of the Ritchie compiler on a PDP-11. Thanks. -Ron
