[rec.music.synth] Bass sounds

I'm looking for that bass sound which can be heard on all the 
'new jack swing' cuts.  It sounds kind of dirty and bouncy.  I don't
know what synth they originate from but if anyone knows please let
me know.  One of my friends told me it was a preset on the DX100
cheapie synth?!?!?

If you don't know what bass sound I'm reffering to check out any
record produced by Teddy Riley or Gene Griffin(e.g. Go see the
doctor - Kool Moe Dee etc etc etc).
