[rec.music.synth] where to get "raw" keyboards

EDWARD.STAUFF@OFFICE.WANG.COM (Edward L. Stauff) (12/13/90)

Here is one source for 61-note organ keyboards, as well as 32-note
pedalboards:

             Organ Supply Industries
             Box 1165
             Erie, PA 16512
             phone 814-864-3011

I have dealt with these people over a number of years. Last time I checked,
keyboards were around $200, and pedalboards were around $700. They also
sell lots of other related parts like key cheeks, contact blocks, etc.
PAIA used to sell keyboards too, though I haven't seen one of their catalogs
in years. I think they advertise in Electronic Musician.

A good lead for getting used keyboards is to get to know someone in the
pipe organ industry - try the yellow pages under Organs or Pipe Organs, or
talk to the organist at a local church. I got my pedalboard for free when
I was picking up some wind chests (also free).
