[rec.music.synth] Rackmounting a PC

jhd@donuts0.bellcore.com (03/30/91)

I have an IBM XT clone that I want to rack-mount to take to gigs. I
don't have much experience with moving PCs around (safely), so I am
looking for helpful hints, e.g.:

	- are there racks available specifically for this purpose (e.g.
	  shock mounts, monitor/keyboard tray)?
	- where can I get good racks at a reasonable price?
	- what type of power surge protection do I need?

Any help would be appreciated.

Two sources of industrial quality rack mounting enclosures:
	Integrand (Visalia, CA) - 209-651-1203
	Industrial Computer Source - 1-800-523-2320

Rather than rack-mounting your equipment, you may need to buy a
rack-mountable enclosure and relocate your motherboard, etc, to
the new enclosure. You get industrial quality
fans/filters/power supply, etc.
