So... if you are the type who likes to TAKE CHARGE of his/her life; if you are the kind who enjoys WALKING AND BREATHING, then by all means read further: where: 1501 International Affairs Building -- Columbia University (on the corner of 118th and Amsterdam) what: The Great Big Wonderful Incredible Glorious Computer Music Concert when: Thursday, May 2; 8:00 PM why: Because we LIKE you! who: them crazy hep-cats who hang out poking bits o' sound around on machines with names like "woof" and "meow" and "yikes". This year's Computer Music Concert at Columbia features sounds from all walks of life -- noises from high-end Sun Workstations exist side-by-side with the sounds of Macintoshes accompanying soap-opera soundtracks. Fake Irish folk music stands up against a real-time NeXT machine improvisation. These are sights which should be witnesed at least once before you die! And best of all, it's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. For more info, contact Brad Garton (brad@woof.columbia.edu) or Mara Helmuth (mara@woof.columbia.edu). Hope to see you there!
