When our Qume printer came to the end of a line while in italics (underline) mode, it rather insolently did a line feed and underlined the left margin on the next line. I added some stuff to move() to turn off italics just before it does lead/escape motions: if(itmode) { oputs(t.itoff); itmode = 0; } Since ptout1() (at least on our system) checks to see if t.iton/t.bdon should be sent before printing characters, I didn't need to worry about restoring italics after turning them off. -- Joe Chapman {linus,wivax}!cadmus!joe
