I've been trying to run the 1st sets of shell archives for zork through a 3b2/400 running sysvr3 without a whole lot of luck. Then again I've never done this before, so maybe there is some kind of incompatibility between the shars posted and svr3 (somehow that wouldn't surprise me). Could somebody give me some clues on how to approach this (no smart comments, please :-) maybe I need a special program to do this instead of running it through /bin/sh? BTW all of the shars evidently were sound, as they worked just fine when I tried them on this machine which runs BSD 4.3, but they did advertise the stuff as not being BSD-specific. Maybe they were wrong - oh yes, the error that I get when trying to /bin/sh the files is something to the effect of "looking for 'end of file'" after a long pause in which it looked like the whole shar was read in.
