[comp.sources.bugs] Problem with postscript interpreter

I've compiled the X-Windows version 'XPS' of the postscript interpreter (after
fixing the declaration of UpdateControl in X.c to be of type 'void').  However,
when I say
   XPS -c 'A4 (demos/wow) lib run'
as suggested in the file INSTALLATION, a window is created on the screen, but
then the window disappears and XPS exits with 'Broken pipe'.  When I use XPS
interactively, the 'showpage' operator produces a beep and nothing is drawn in
the output window.

Does anyone know what is wrong here?
