Hello (again, sigh), Well, the last time I posted about tcsh, I was having problems with stty. Somebody (don't have the file handy, sorry) posted the patches, and, lo and behold, it worked. Blessings on you. Now for the $64k question: we seem to be having problems with lines with a '\' at the end (multiple lines, you know?). Basicly, we have a TERMCAP entry we wish to enter (not supported normally), and we have lines like this: vt500:.*:\ :.*:\ and so on. What happens is that the colon appears go get eaten, so the TERMCAP seems to think that the entry conains a newline and a tab, which has its problem when we wish to use emacs 8-). Anybody else encounter (and fix) this, or do I have to mung around myself? On a lighter note, I have (more or less) successfully ported it to a 4.1 system. There were some minor problems, such as an apparantly deficient library (it was missing getwd() in -ljobs, which is where one section of the manual said it should be), and missing some nice things from 4.2. I solved the getwd() by copying the sources from the lib source directory, but I think this was a local problem. Also, since I'm here, does anybody have patches to make jove (or emacs) work on a 4.1 system? Both really seem to want 4.2 more than anything else, so we're having some problems (jove won't use pty's without select, or SIGIO, which we don't have). We're on a national semiconductor sys16, should this prove of interrest. Thank you for your support. ----- Sean Eric Fagan Office of Computing/Communications Resources (213) 852 5742 Suite 2600 1GTLSEF@CALSTATE.BITNET 5670 Wilshire Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90036 {litvax, rdlvax, psivax, hplabs, ihnp4}!csun!aeusesef
