I have a problem with the uutty software (public domain bi-directionnal getty/login program that was in volume 6 of comp.source.unix). It seems that onced I'm logged, whenever I press the BREAK or INTR key to stop a process my shell gets killed and I'm returned to the login prompt. I don't have this problem while using a standard getty so the the trouble is really with uutty. The problem lies probably in the way uutty spawns the shell process, but this is beyond the level of my unix knowledge. :-( Does anyone around have any idea on how this can be solved? Another thing about uutty is that it sets the permission of the tty as 644, so anyone can read what you're typing but no-one can 'write' or 'chat' with you. Shouldn't this be 622 (or 600)???
