[comp.sources.bugs] INFO-HPUX

donn@hpfcdc.HP.COM (Donn Terry) (04/23/88)

To forestall poissible confusion:

On the 800, the broadly available most current release is 1.2, with 2.0
"just coming out".

On the 300, the most current release is 6.0.

On the 500, the most current release is 5.2.

The 300 and 500 were in sync for a while, but with the reduced level of
support on the 500... .

Further discussion to comp.sys.hp.

Perl up to but not including patch level 28 works on the 300; no comment
on the 800. (The System V problems reported on the net a few weeks ago
appear to be the problem with this. I havn't tried the fix yet. Looks
like Beta 2.0 or 2.0 is the best bet for now.)

Not really. Use comp.sys.hp instead. I've redirected follow-ups to this
newsgroup.

Perl runs on a 9000/550 up to patch level 27 (28 and 29 applied at the same time break it in a big way -- won't even compile any more). I haven't had the time to back out of patch 29 to see if it worked at 28, so I think I'll just wait for the release of Version 2.0. When I initially brought it up on the
9000/550, it didn't pass all of the tests supplied, although when I went thru
and ran the tests by hand, they all seemed to pass, with the exception of one
near the end of the list (can't remember which one it was, and I'm not on that
machine now).
